Hello,
I am losing my mind over this thought it would be a simple process but it is a nightmare at the moment.
Basically I want to use the TP Link router as a Wifi adapter connected to a PC. The main router (linksys) is on the other side of the house which takes care of the DHCP etc. I was under the impression the TP Link needs to be set to Bridged Mode Client.
Main IP address of the linksys is 192.168.1.1
Here is what I do
1. TP link router IP change to 192.168.1.200
2. Set as DHCP forwarder
3. DHCP Server,DNS,Gateway is set to main router IP(192.168.1.1)
Save settings and all is fine I can still log into the TP LINK via the new IP 192.168.1.200
Now I go to the wireless settings
4. Mode= Client bridge mode (routed)
5.SSID same as Main Router
6.Channel Same as main router
7. DHCP server disabled (can't remeber if under this menu could be elsewhere but it is disabled.
Anyway after doing these changes I am unable to connect to the router anymore. 192.168.1.200 does not work and I am left just to do a reset and try my luck again. I don't understand this.
The PC is connected to the TP LINK via ethernet cable
I have also set the security settings exactly the same as on the main router.
Main router also has the TP lINK routers mac address in the filter list.
I am not sure why the router locks me out when I make the Wireless settings changes and I can't get back in.
The router I am using is the TP-LINK TL-WR940N but using the WR941ND firmware v4 as the units are exactly the same.
Has anybody got this to work and if so what are the exact settings please? This is driving me nuts on youtube people get it set-up in 2mins without issue.
The routers are not connected via cable. I need the TP link to get the internet access via WIFI from the linksys.
If anyone can help me out it would be very much appreciated!!!

I have a home network consisting of a router TL-WR941ND V2/3 and a repeater TL-WA901ND. V2.
Every day I loose connection with the devices normally connected to the router TL-WR941ND.
I than need to go to a device connected to the repeater, access the router TL-WR941ND via 192.168.1.1
and reboot it using the System tools. Than the devices connected to the router work again.
I thought may be there is some problem because the devices in my network have different Operating systems
like: XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Android for Cellphones, I-pad and Smart TV. I tried to find a Firmware upgrade
for the TL-WR941ND but the Download site at T-Link does not find this product, not even in the End of Live List.
The Firmware version of the TL-WR941ND is: 3.11.8 Build 100609 REL. 61214n
The Firmware version of the TL-WA901ND is: 3.12.16 Build 120224 REL.61005n.
Is there possible an incompatibility between the Router and the Repeater or between the Router or Repeater and
some of the different Operating systems in the connected devices?
I believe the problem became worse when I connected the repeater as well.
If an Firmware upgrade would help, where would I find it since for the router there is nothing on the T-link download site available?
Any advice?
